The Vasarely Foundation is an architectural center (creation of a structure combining art and architecture in the service of a meaning of its own) located in Aix-en-Provence, erected between 1971 and 1976 by the contemporary Franco-Hungarian artist Victor Vasarely. Conceived as an architectural center, it houses, in an architecture made of alveoli, works by Vasarely integrated into the facades and internal walls of the building, which during his lifetime could serve as inspiration for the commissions that he placed. Located on the southwestern edge of Aix-en-Provence, in the Jas-de-Bouffan district, it now also hosts temporary exhibitions and other cultural events. It has been classified as a Historic Monument since 2013, and has an annual attendance of around 101,677 visitors (in 2019). It benefits from the appellation Musée de France.
