Created in 2001, the Museum of Prehistory of the Gorges du Verdon located in Quinson is considered to this day as one of the largest prehistoric museums in Europe. Built by the architect Norman Foster, it presents the result of more than 50 years of archaeological excavations in the Verdon.
This museum specializing in Prehistory tells you the story of man in Provence. It presents the evolution of lifestyles throughout its permanent exhibition, punctuated by scenes of prehistoric life, multimedia and interactive animations, original archaeological objects ... and the unusual herd of life-size prehistoric animals!

From spring 2022, come freely visit the new space set up a few steps from the museum on the theme of Prehistory: reconstructions of architecture in wood, stone or earth, carried out life-size according to archaeological data. Accompanied by a mediator from the museum, you can learn to make a fire without a match, introduce yourself to flint cutting, archery or even throw a spear with a thruster. Activities to enjoy in groups or as a family, for children and adults alike!
